Brand Language - 2015

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Brand Language committee!  We have an opportunity to figure out which words customers will see before they log into AskUsNow!.  Currently, there are several ways that our AskUsNow! customers are seeing AskUsNow! on their library's website before they actually log in, and this is not consistent.  I have listed 16 phrases that are linked to our service at http://askusnow.info/staff/marketing/brandlanguage, and that is not all of them.  We need to figure out how to make this list shorter, and 3-5 phrases should do it.

Why is the brand language important?  Because it gives brevity and clarity to the purpose of the service:

  • Briefly identities of the service and the chat providers.
  • Clarifies what, how, and why the customer should use the service.

In three months (July-October 2015), we will:

  • Create a recommended list of 3-5 phrases (i.e. brand language) that consistently matches the purpose of AskUsNow!.
  • Post the recommended list on the Inner Harbor and Listserv.  Paul will do the posting and emailing, but will need your assistance with the editing.
  • Implement the use of the phrases at the AskUsNow! partner libraries.  Paul will do this with the AskUsNow! Administration.
